Cville Food Not Bombs

We stand to believe that access to a meal and a living is a right, not a privilege.

Charlottesville Food Not Bombs features many dedicated volunteers who collect perishable foods and pantry items that would otherwise go to waste from grocery stores, bakeries, and farmers markets and gives them back to the community. We strive to share food, skills, ideas, and conversation. Before the pandemic, the chapter prepared and shared free vegan meals each week.

Ready to take the next step?

Please join us at Forest Hills Park (1022 Forest Hills Ave) every Sunday at 10 a.m. for fresh produce, pantry items, and good conversation! Organic gluten & dairy-free options are often available. The schedule is subject to change while we navigate park construction. We will keep the website updated with current information, so please check back for any schedule changes.

A look into the life of the Cville Food Not Bombs community! Meal offerings pre-pandemic.

As the economic, political, and environmental crisis grows more urgent, Food Not Bombs is often the place where people can turn for fresh groceries, information, and emotional support. Please come join our efforts by joining the community each week and consider volunteering or donating to an important cause.

There has been a call to action.

“A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual death.”

-Martin Luther King, Jr
